Variety: Jimmy Nardello
Species: C. Annuum
Origin: In the late 1800s, Giuseppe and Angella Nardiello cultivated this pepper in their home garden in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy. When they migrated to America and settled in Naugatuck, Connecticut, they brought the seeds with them. They continued growing this pepper and named it after their 4th son, Jimmy.
Picante Class: Legendary
Category: Heirloom
Description: Jimmy Nardello peppers have complex, savoury flavours and are perfect for snacking or frying. Their thin skin makes them tender and delightful. While you can harvest them green, the best flavour comes when they are fully ripened to bright red. Imagine the taste of a fresh red bell pepper, but even sweeter and more satisfying. These peppers prove that heirloom varieties truly excel in flavour
